Information & Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Temporary Senior Tour Guide conducts in-person tours of the institute for prospective students, parents and visitors to the CalArts campus. The position requires availability from 10:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Thursday, during the summer session.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist tour guides
  • Memorize a one-hour tour script detailing CalArts programs and facilities
  • Lead in-person tours of the campus on a timely schedule as needed
  • Answer questions about application requirements
  • Communicate what is exciting and special about the CalArts creative community to campus visitors
  • Oversee the tour check-in process, sit at the front reception desk to answer the phone, and assist campus guests while not giving tours
    • Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to be articulate, friendly, punctual and reliable with prospective students/families;
  • Memorization of detailed information about the institute and ability to relay it to the public accurately;
  • Prior tour, customer service or office experience preferred;
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality.
