Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget, and market considerations.

Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position
The successful candidate will have responsibility for establishing and managing experiments and conducting laboratory, greenhouse and field research at the university research farm as well as on farmers' fields. Investigations will involve the production of industrial hemp in North Carolina. Ability to work with small growers. Under the direction of the PI plan and organize experiments and logistics, data collection, and data analysis; interpretation of the results, producing summary reports in MS Word and summary presentations using MS PowerPoint; assist in writing quarterly research reports, annual research project summaries. Assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in scientific journal. Requires good oral communication skills.. Duties and Responsibilities: Searches literature demonstrating an understanding of scientific, experimental and /or research theory to assist in the design of methods, procedures, and/or techniques. Identifies data to be collected and documented. Identifies resources needed to conduct experiments. Assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in scientific journal. Requires good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Works with growers and travels extensively Develops experimental procedures, experimental design, and project planning. Conducts experiments, data collection, and analysis, evaluating, and reporting. Responsible for laboratory management and project management. Assists with preparing scientific presentations, research reports, and scientific articles. Oversees the laboratory, greenhouse, and field activities of the program. Maintains supplies and manages undergraduate students. Communicates detailed outcomes and results of research in oral and written format. Assist in preparation of research findings, prepares reports. Collects information for grant writing and reporting. Applies knowledge of research and regulatory standards to maintain a laboratory environment. Conduct scientific literature reviews. Applies knowledge of scientific principles to conduct research process, knowledge of laboratory instruments and equipment
