Position Details

Reporting to the Special Assistant to the President, the Assistant to the President performs administrative functions for the office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the President is aware of his busy daily calendar of appointments and stays on schedule during the day.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the office, provide reception, process mail, submit work orders, organize and order supplies, manage filing (hard and digital files) and respond to, and resolve inquiries.
  • Provide support as needed for another member of the President's staff.
  • Complete various projects and other duties and requests as assigned.
  • This position is located on-campus in Middletown, CT

    This is a temporary, non-benefit eligible position.

    Hours are M-F , 8:30 am -5:00 pm with an hour lunch.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Associate degree and a minimum of five years of experience as an administrative assistant/project or program coordinator OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Experience managing calendars.

    Effective communication skills.

    Strong organizational skills.

    History of excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

    History of being punctual and dependable.

    Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple assignments consistently.

    Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and competing demands while meeting deadlines.

    Strong people skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.

    Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to be extremely effective independently.

    Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

    Proven history of customer service and timely response.

    Advanced level expertise with Microsoft Office suite.

    Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact collegially with individuals of different backgrounds.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Previous experience as an executive assistant.

    Previous experience in higher education.

    Previous c-level experience.
