Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Eagle Card Operations is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to its customers through it use of the multi-faceted identification program, which includes meal plans, book allowances, POS terminals, debit/credit authorization, access control, vending, copying, ManageMYID, athletic program access, Self Service Banner (SSB) interface for meal plans,etc. The Eagle Card is used for electronic payments throughout campus as well as the access and authorization key.
The objectives of Campus Enterprise is to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of administrators, faculty, staff and students through the use technology, maintain financial integrity support of the technology that is deployed and to provide adequate services.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to install, configure and maintain all firmware. Such hardware includes point of sale terminals at food service locations, laundry readers, Pepsi readers, handheld reader devices, and terminal server that are all a part of the Eagle Card system. Also responsible for support of the various technology based solutions implemented in University Dining, CBORD food service management system, door access system, book voucher system, online self- service.
All readers are constantly being used by our students 24/7.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate must possess: Knowledgeable of programming terminal servers, POS systems and other electronic devices such as laundry and vending readers; being able to troubleshoot desktops, apply window patches; knowledge of networking, routers, switches, etc.; knowledge of server configuration, maintenance; Prefer someone that has proficient knowledge in Sequential Query Language (SQL) and Oracle and have programming experience; knowledge of Windows' environment; ability to work independently and to take initiative and follow through until completion or resolution of assignments; ability to work well under pressure, to adhere to deadlines, and to be flexible; ability to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; excellent written, interpersonal, customer service and oral communication skills.
Minimum Education/Experience
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
