The Law Library Technology and Research Services Librarian (Law Faculty) develops and manages the Rodino Center law library systems, digital collections, and repositories; provides research assistance to library patrons; and participates in law library educational programming including legal research courses, guest lectures, and programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain various platforms from which users access law library resources, such as the library management system (OCLC's WMS), discovery layers, resource sharing platforms, institutional repository, and online research databases.
  • Coordinate access to digital resources and collections in collaboration and coordination with main campus library, law IT, and vendors (OpenAthens and EZproxy).
  • Investigate and implement new law library technologies and systems to support Rodino Center library services and collections, and to meet the needs of students and faculty.
  • Develop web page content, including resource guides and other instructional content.
  • Conduct trainings and workshops on library resource and technology.
  • Develop materials for and teach in formal and informal educational programs, including workshops and classes.
  • Provide reference and research support to patrons, including students, student organizations, alumni, and members of the bar.
  • Responsibilities require teaching and service on weekends.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school or equivalent non-US law degree.
  • M.L.S. or equivalent from an ALA accredited library school, or education in progress.
  • Knowledge of legal electronic information resources.
  • Interest in research instruction and library technology.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible and to adjust to change.
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to emerging library practices and technologies preferred.
  • Experience providing reference and instructional services in a law library setting.
  • Experience or with web design and familiarity with web standards and usability practices.
  • Licenses and Certificates:

  • M.L.S. or equivalent from an ALA accredited library school.
  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school or equivalent non-US law degree.
