    You are a skilled Technician with experience in the use of practical technology for teaching activities and understand the importance of high-level organisation. You have a keen eye for detail and can understand and implement work procedures and practices to maintain the health and safety of yourself and others. You communicate with impact and lead others, displaying conviction and resilience.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Senior Technician: Horizon Hospital and Health Service, you will provide teaching and delivery support services to students in the Nursing and Midwifery simulation learning space.

    Students learn from industry professionals and their experience extends beyond the classroom, with access to purpose-built facilities, including a wide range of laboratories and simulated hospital and health services environments located on campus. Students also get hands-on experience by completing fieldwork and clinical placement throughout their studies. UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences has clinical agreements with all local health networks, major hospitals, private health providers, rural health networks, aged care services and mental health services. This includes partnerships with SA Health, Calvary Hospital, Cancer Council SA and HelpingHand.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • Completion of a relevant certificate and/or equivalent experience and training in a healthcare setting, combined with an understanding of health care education delivery
  • High-level organisational skills and initiative including experience in work planning, procurement and logistics
  • Demonstrated experience with information technologies including proficiency with databases, and the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documentation
  • Experience working independently, contributing to a positive team environment and continual professional and personal development
  • Physical fitness with a knowledge of and the ability to meet WS&IM manual handling and mechanical lifting practices

    This position is a flexible ordinary hours appointment, which requires ordinary hours to be worked on a rostered shift arrangement that includes performing work both within and outside the span of ordinary hours as specified in the University of South Australia Enterprise Agreement 2023 and its successor enterprise agreements. A flexibility loading will be paid at the appropriate rate for every hour worked outside of the span of ordinary hours as specified in the Enterprise Agreement.
