This role provides comprehensive technical support to maintain and enhance the University's physical environment. This includes preventative, breakdown and emergency maintenance.

In this role you will:

  • Undertake statutory, preventative, breakdown, and emergency maintenance.
  • Analyse, diagnose, and resolve technical problems related to the University's physical infrastructure and systems.
  • Repair, test, and commission equipment/systems as needed.
  • Provide a coordinated and comprehensive client service, responding to maintenance requests promptly.
  • Inform clients of estimated timeframes for work, potential safety issues, and disruptions, keeping them updated on delays and problems.
  • Offer support and advice directly to clients on maintenance issues, ensuring satisfaction with the work.
  • Liaise with other trades to ensure efficient service delivery and avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Maintain accurate records and update maintenance management databases.
  • Supervise and monitor maintenance work by external contractors, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Assess equipment and systems for suitability and functionality.
  • Demonstrate high standards of professional and personal conduct as a member of the University community.
  • Undertake additional activities consistent with the responsibilities outlined above.
