  • Job Summary:

    Carrying out technological processes of the molecular beam epitaxial (MBE) growth of IV-VI nanostructures with topological properties. Characterization of the produced nanostructures by scanning electron microscopy technique (SEM, EDX) and angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). Technical and IT support of the technological and measuring apparatus.     The International Centre for Interfacing Magnetism and Superconductivity with Topological Matter – MagTop is the Division (ON-6) of the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences (https:// www. ifpan.edu.pl/indexen.php) and is funded by a grant awarded to Professors Tomasz Dietl and Tomasz Wojtowicz within the International Research Agendas programme of the Foundation for Polish Science, carried out from the funds of the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme (SG OP), Priority Axis 4: Increasing the research potential, Measure 4.3: International Research Agendas (https:// www. fnp.org.pl/en/oferta/international- research-agendas-ira/). MagTop activities involve strong local and international collaborations, the strategic partner unit being Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Germany, particularly the Institute EP3 headed by Professor Laurens W. Molenkamp.

    OPEN POSITION

    - Master's degree in physics or related disciplines.

    - Experience in using of high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum apparatus.

    - At least 3 years of research experience in the area of MBE growth of IV-VI materials, preferably with the use of GENxplor system from VEECO.

    - Experience in studies of IV-VI compounds, including ARPES.

    - Good knowledge of the Phyton programming language, sufficient for the support of the technical safety programs in the MBE laboratory.

    - Good knowledge of spoken and written English allowing for reading of technical documentation and communication.

    Type of Contract: Contract for one year with a possibility of prolongation

    Status: Full-time

    Salary: depending on qualifications up to 5 600 PLN gross per month (up to 1200 € per month)
