Technical Officer in the Faculty of Engineering (Ref.: 520236) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent discipline, with at least 2 years' relevant work experience. They should have solid computer programming skills. They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good interpersonal, organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills; and the ability to work independently. Applicants with experience in the administration of Linux operating system, Apache web server, MySQL database server, Open-source content management system and knowledge of Java programming are preferred. Applicants with work experience in information system development and web-based system development will be an advantage.
The appointee will provide comprehensive IT and technical support for the daily operation and activities in the Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing of the Faculty of Engineering. He/she will be responsible for the design, and deployment of information systems to facilitate the daily operations of the Innovation Wing; and perform other duties as assigned.
