Permanent Whole-time Post
Applications are invited for the above permanent whole-time post in the School of Microbiology. Reporting to the Head of School (or his/her nominee), and to the Chief Technical Officer.
The School of Microbiology is a modern, vibrant, research-focused unit with internationally recognised teaching and research programmes in both the College of Science Engineering and Food Science and the College of Medicine and Health at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. In addition to the flagship Microbiology Degree, the school is a major contributor to the BSc Biotechnology, BSc Genetics, BSc Biomedical Science, BSc Food Science, MSc Bioinformatics with Systems Biology, MSc Biotechnology, MSc Biomedical Science, MSc Food Microbiology, MSc Food Science as well as making significant contributions to teaching in Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine, Food Business and other programmes
The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of high quality technical support to the teaching and research activities of the School at undergraduate and postgraduate level and across the discipline of microbiology. In addition the successful candidate should be capable of supporting the School's data handling and analysis activities.

Appointment may be made on the Technical Officer Salary Scale: €45,348 – €62,304 (Scale B)
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy .
