Hong Kong Baptist University has been awarded funding under Job Creation Scheme 3.0 supported by the Government to create employment opportunities. As part of the formulation of a new University-wide Digital Experience Strategy, HKBU is expanding its IT capacity through several openings targeting fresh graduates as well as young professionals. Those openings will serve as the breeding ground for the next generation of technical/business/management professionals who will lead HKBU's Digital Transformation in the coming years.

Position Description and Responsibilities:

Technical Officer / Assistant Technical Officer (PR0655/22-23) represents the frontline of University's IT services. Officers taking up this role should care about service quality and how to use technology to streamline the access and experience of IT services. Enabling a positive experience on technology-enabled teaching & learning is also a priority for this role.

  • Provide frontline user support on IT and AV usage;
  • Handle user enquiries, service requests and incidents;
  • Produce and support live, hybrid and virtual events, meetings and conferences; and
  • Attend shift duty outside office hours on a roster basis.
  • Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, associate degree, higher diploma, diploma or equivalent qualification in information technology, computer science, marketing, management, business studies, or related disciplines;
  • Additional or specific qualifications may be required for specific positions (please ensure those requirements are met as well);
  • Hands-on experience of related software would be advantageous;
  • Willingness to take up challenges in unfamiliar areas;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and
  • A team player willing to work harmoniously with others to achieve the team goals.

    The appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract for up to one year.
