About this Opportunity
The Technical Officer supports the Faculty of Science Workshop in providing
professional, high-quality electronics/electrical repair, design, and
manufacturing services, technically orientated support to workshop clients and
technicians. You will provide support in a variety of activities including
teaching and research, laboratory, project liaison, and technical advisory.
The University of Queensland's teaching and research relies on high quality

Completion of a post-trade certificate or advanced certificate and
extensive relevant experience in applied electronics or a combination of
relevant experience and/or education/training.
Proven ability in using hand and power tools, electrical test equipment,
A QLD Restricted Electrical Licence and QLD drivers licence.
Ability to prioritise own workload, work independently and meet deadlines.
Previous experience working on multiple projects.
Good experience and understanding of software control systems and
demonstrated diagnostic skills.
Must have sound understanding of good workshop practices and high
commitment to safe working practices.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and proven ability in
technical report writing.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, continuing position at a HEW Level 5.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range of $72,212.51 -
$80,430.02 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range
$84,488.64 - $94,103.12 per annum.
