Technical Manager/Assistant Technical Manager (holding the functional title of Statistician/Statistical Officer) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 520387) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above, and preferably a higher degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology or a related discipline, with at least 3 years' post-qualification work experience in data management and analysis. They must be able to use statistical software packages including R and SAS for data analysis. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). They should be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. Those with less experience/qualifications will be considered for appointment as Assistant Technical Manager.
The appointee will provide statistical support to a research team in the area of infectious disease epidemiology and COVID-19. He/She will manage, analyse and interpret data; prepare reports and journal publications; assist in grant applications; supervise and train junior staff members; and handle other administrative tasks or special projects as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment of fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
