About Business Services Business Services provides a full range of class leading information technology, facilities management, finance, HR and health and safety services to all operating entities of the University.

About the Role As Team Leader, Infrastructure/CRM Applications (ICAT), you will be responsible for the support, lifecycle management and some development of all applications within the Enterprise Applications team within Business Services. You will manage a team conducting application and infrastructure support, application and platform lifecycle activities, technical consultancy and transition activities for new projects. The team is responsible for a large portfolio of In-house developed, commercial of the shelf and SaaS applications running in both production and non-production environments within the University of Melbourne.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage, escalate and resolve support incidents according to service level expectations, using development, testing, and production support tools
  • Assess the impact of change to supported services and contribute to the development of change implementation schedules, support models, technical and operational documentation and delivery plans.
  • Provide technical and operational consultancy to Project teams and implement effective transition plans for new or changed services.
  • Proactively manage the application and platform lifecycle, ensuring that they are current, have latest features and meet security requirements.
  • Work closely with development teams to deliver new and enhanced services in according with the teams' delivery process.
  • About You To be successful in this role, you will have high management skills that assist you in providing support and mentoring colleagues within your team. Your organisational skills will ensure that assigned tasks are completed effectively and efficiently when it comes to your individual workload. You will strive and contribute to a highly motivated team who constantly ensure service excellence standards are met. You will have experience across a wide range of technologies, application frameworks application platforms and networks and be able to adapt to emerging technologies. You will have a continuous improvement mindset, and take opportunities to reduce and remove technical debt in the application portfolio.

    You will also have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Significant supervisory management experience in a complex organisation, preferably within the Higher Education Sector
  • ITIL qualifications with service management experience in a complex operational environment
  • You will have broad experience across technologies, networks, infrastructure, applications and application frameworks
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile Methodologies and tools
