  • About This Opportunity

    Supporting the Head of the Clinical Unit, this role is responsible for ensuring the administrative arrangements are in place to support the effective provision of clinical teaching activities, placements, and assessment for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program within the Northside Clinical Unit. The Clinical Unit Team Leader will oversee and coordinate a range of operational functions including the leadership of the student coordination team.

    This role will primarily be based at the Prince Charles Hospital, Chermside, but will be required to visit the other sites of the Clinical Unit including the Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals.

    The Clinical Unit Team Leaders and Senior Administration Officers from across the Greater Brisbane Clinical School work together as part of a high performing team to foster a positive, collaborative culture of best practice within the Clinical School, ensuring a strong client service focus for all stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership and Management: Support the Head of the Clinical Unit to implement operational plans for teaching and assessments requirements for the MD program at the Clinical Unit.

  • Develop and foster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including regular liaison with Clinical Unit Team Leaders at other sites.

  • This is a full-time (100%), continuing position.

    At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $93,254 - $101,680, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $109,107 - $118,966 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

    About You

  • A degree in a relevant area with at least four years' relevant education/training and/or extensive relevant management expertise.

  • Relevant work experience in an operations role, preferably within a tertiary education environment or healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrated capability to supervise administration functions.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to be adaptive and innovative in developing and pursuing solutions.

  • Ability to use judgment, act independently and take initiative with minimal direction, yet work effectively as part of a management team.

  • An ability to foster effective working relationships, with a broad range of stakeholders internal and external to the University.
