Teaching Fellow in Philosophy Philosophy

Location: Avenue Campus Salary: £32,348 to £39,745 Pro rata per annum Part Time Fixed Term - 17.5 hours a week until 30/06/2023 Closing Date: Tuesday 27 September 2022 Interview Date: To be confirmed Reference: 1981122AR

The University of Southampton seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Philosophy for a period until 30/06/2023. This position is currently being advertised for part-time basis (17.5 hours per week), with flexibility available in terms of work pattern.

The Philosophy Department at Southampton has an excellent reputation for teaching and research. We are based within the School of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and have close interdisciplinary links with other members of the School and the wider University. The successful candidate for this post will have a PhD in Philosophy, as well as proven teaching skills, will be enthusiastic and flexible in contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and will be keen to participate fully in the intellectual and academic activities of a lively and committed department which prizes collegiality very highly. The successful candidate will also have experience of teaching modules in philosophy of religion, philosophy of language, Continental philosophy, medieval philosophy and non- Western philosophy at university level.
