Teaching Fellow in Mechanical Engineering (Electronics) Engineering & Technology Location: Aston University Main Campus

Salary: £33,797 to £49,553 per annum Grade 8 or 9 Contract Type: Fixed Term (24 months)

Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Fellow in Mechanical Engineering (Electronics) within Aston University's Mechanical, Biomedical & Design subject group. Successful candidates will demonstrate a student-centred teaching focus with a passion for teaching in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Fundamentals, Design for the User, Arduino or related subjects.

Applicants must have a first degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline and we would also expect applicants to hold a formal teaching qualification such as a PGCHE and / or have achieved FHEA or above, or be willing to achieve this once in post.

Applicants should be familiar with VLE software such as Blackboard or Moodle.

The successful applicant will be expected to develop teaching materials, teach and assess students using a variety of formats including lectures and tutorials for the whole class and individual projects. An effective and evidenced track record in learning and teaching using these modes is essential as is a record of positive student feedback.

In addition, applicants may be expected to be play a key role in the operation of the subject group including acting as personal tutor to students, taking part in open days and helping with outreach activities. Where appropriate, there will also be opportunity for involvement in, or leadership of, key operational areas.
