    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Teaching Assistant will work with faculty and students performing teaching or teaching-related duties such as:

  • Support students during laboratory/ workshop activities and homework assignments.
  • Support in developing teaching materials.
  • Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Support in delivery of online lessons and development of materials for the CANVAS virtual learning platform.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for laboratory and studio sessions.
  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support in preparing teaching materials and organising workshop spaces in preparation for classes.
  • Support in developing in-class activities & delivery.
  • Support students in understanding their class assignments and assessments.
  • Assist with workshop sessions and supervise open access in workshops and labs.
  • Provide more detail on material covered in-class to support students understanding.
  • KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline, preferably Master's Degree.
  • Have knowledge in Unity, Blender, Adobe Suite, and other Digital Media related software.
  • Have knowledge in C# and Visual Scripting in Unity.
  • Ability to explain a complex problem in terms that are easy to understand and comprehend.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environment and situations.
  • Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).
  • ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT

    English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 6.5 (academic, with no skill less than 6.0) (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines). For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.

    WORK PERMIT

    As an expatriate candidate, you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years' related experience.
