YOUR TASKS
Assistance in the practice-based teaching at the Department of
Linguistics, section of Scandinavian studies (organization, guidance and
evaluation of practical exercises and seminars), specifically for
Norwegian.
Supervision and assessment of papers, research assignments and master
theses.
Collaboration to the internal and external services of the Department of
Linguistics, (support in) the organization of conferences and public
events, representation at Sid-Ins (etc.).
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You hold a Master degree in Linguistics and literature, Historical
Linguistics and Literature, Comparative Modern Literature with
specialization in Scandinavian studies, or an equivalent degree. For
diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence
(NARIC) must be submitted. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled
at the start of your appointment.
You are involved in other professional activities and/or you have
demonstrable experience that may contribute to the quality of the
practice-based teaching at the department.
You have excellent (near-native) oral and written proficiency in
Norwegian, as well as good communication and editorial skills in
Norwegian.
You have experience in guiding students.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
We offer you a 1 year appointment, which will not be renewed. Attention
: You cannot be appointed for a cumulative percentage of more than 30% as
a Teaching Assistant at Ghent University.
Your appointment will start on 1 October 2023 at the earliest.
Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP3. More
information about our salary scales.
