HIST 2F00 Great Lakes Maritime and Costal History
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $20.81 per hour. (Rate effective January 1, 2023)
· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $32.74 per hour. (Rate effective January 1, 2023)
· In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant's duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non- classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.

A four-year Honours B.A., or equivalent, in History with a minimum 75% average in History courses;
Demonstrated knowledge of Early Modern History is required;
Evidence of successful previous university-level teaching assistant experience or equivalent;
Working knowledge of Brightspace and familiarity with evaluation of electronically submitted assignments;
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines.
