Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TaLIC) Academic Developer
The Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TaLIC) is a Professional
Service Department within Goldsmiths, University of London. TaLIC's main aim
is to help Goldsmiths deliver excellence in all areas of learning and
teaching. We do that by working in partnership with departments to provide:
support, consultation, guidance, and advice in all aspects of university pedagogy;
research, evaluation and development, technical support, advice and skill training on e-learning, particularly with respect to Goldsmiths' Virtual Learning Environment, learn.gold;
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities including certified programmes in university pedagogy such as with the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (hereafter referred to as PG Cert) and the Experiential Route to Higher Education Academy Fellowship;
advice, support and technical assistance in the development and delivery of Distance Learning courses and programmes.
TaLIC is managed by the Pro-Warden for teaching and learning enhancement.
There is an Academic Director of TaLIC, two Learning Technologists, a Lecturer
in Teaching in Higher Education who is the programme leader for the PG Cert, a
team of E-learning advisors, an Educational Developer, and administrative
support.
The purpose of the role is to work with academics, professional staff and
members of the TaLIC team to support the improvement of learning and teaching
at Goldsmiths, with a particular focus on two areas:
1. Leading the AdvanceHE experiential route. This is a programme in which
staff member may be accredited for AdvanceHE fellowships based on their prior
experience. The role involves liaising with AdvanceHE, supporting applicants
and arranging for mentoring and an assessment panel.
2. Working with academics, professional staff and the TaLIC VLE team to
improve the accessibility of Goldsmiths learning and teaching for students
with disabilities

Lead the AdvanceHE experiential route programme
Work with other members of TaLIC to update and re-accredit the programme
Support applicants to the programme through the process
Arrange mentoring and assessment for the programme
Advise member of academic staff on pedagogy in general and accessibility
in particular
Support the development of an accessibility strategy for Goldsmiths
Work with our learning technologists to ensure that our VLE and other
learning technologies are accessible
Keep up to date in the latest developments in pedagogy in general and
accessibility in particular.

required
