Systems Specialist (at the rank of IT Technician) in the Department of Computer Science (Ref.: 520279) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma or above in Information Technology or a related discipline. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, good communication and organisational skills. They should also be a fast learner, willing to adopt new tools and methodologies, and be able to work independently and also as a team member. Applicants with experience in Linux operating system administration and computer programming knowledge will have an advantage. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
The appointee will work in the Department as a member of technical staff. He/She will be responsible for administration of computer systems and network equipment, websites set-up and maintenance, computer laboratory management, equipment procurement, video conferencing support, event logistics management, and help desk service. He/She may be required to work outside normal office hours occasionally.
