Job Description

The Systems Engineer in the Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) Air National Guard Program Office (ANGPO) will perform systems engineering to support the Air National Guard-Air Force Reserve Test Center (AATC) operations located in the Tucson Arizona Field Office. Additionally, the Systems Engineer will work with the Director of Test (DT) as a systems acquisition expert to develop local procedures for test plan development, reporting, and other course-ware development initiatives. These initiatives will educate project pilots and other AATC personnel.

Job Duties
  • Assist in the design and development of AATC test procedures education to include developing the course-ware and leading the local Project Managers course
  • Develop a comprehensive set of course-ware and teach new project pilots and other AATC engineers acquisition system knowledge
  • Support sponsor programmatic reviews, planning meetings, concept development efforts, and technical interchange meetings
  • Support AATC project execution with systems engineering/test conduct expertise
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Education & Length of Experience

    Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II

  • A Bachelor's degree and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or related technical field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Bachelor's degree and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or related technical field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or related technical field.
  • Senior Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate

  • A Bachelor's degree and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or related technical field and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Bachelor's degree and Master's degree with one or both in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or related technical field and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or related technical field and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with flight test
  • 10+ years of experience in the acquisition community
  • Experience developing course-ware and/or teaching experience
  • Experience with test plans and test reporting
  • System Integration expertise with one of the following system integration competencies: development, test, or fielding
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Defense Acquisitions University (DAU) T&E Level III qualified or equivalent
  • Experience with Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) or Commander Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COTF) operational test director courses
  • Experience with test operations at AATC or other test and evaluation centers
  • U.S. Citizenship Requirements

    Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

    Clearance Type Required

    Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
