    GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

    The Systems Administrator is responsible for installation, administration, operation, maintenance, security, and troubleshooting of servers, applications, and related technology systems. The SysAdmin is responsible for routine auditing and information security basics. The SysAdmin is challenged to work with application development and operations to help achieve a state- of-the-art environment that meets current and future objectives. The Sys Admin will analyze and recommend evolving technologies that will ensure that Kirkwood is continually in the best technical environment to achieve it's mission. The Sys Admin will also provide high-level support and assistance to the Desktop team and ServiceDesk employees and assist Sys Admin II's, Sys Admin III's, Sr. Systems Administrators, and Engineers as necessary. The Sys Admin must be self-directed, organized, and extremely attentive to details.

  • DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Auditing security patch management for all systems, mitigating risks.
  • Automating daily, weekly, and monthly internal vulnerability testing and remediating and mitigating risks.
  • Reviewing system logs and alerts; triage and perform basic remediation.
  • Maintain security standards and contribute to evolving info security maturity.
  • Auditing of all technology infrastructure inventory.
  • Install and maintain server-based applications, upgrades and security patches.
  • Auditing system and application permissions (entitlement reviews).
  • Work closely with the Application teams to ensure optimal system resources and with the Sr. System Admins and Engineers to ensure consistent system support.
  • Provide technical support and instruction to front-line computer technicians.
  • Assist as needed in maintaining local and wide area network equipment.
  • Auditing of all System Admin documentation.
  • Recognize system deficiencies and implement effective solutions.
  • Managing routine tasks required for our enterprise data backup solution.
  • Restore and recover failed systems and data.
  • Provide 24/7 support for critical situations and assist with disaster recovery when necessary.
  • Document SOPs for the systems they provide primary support.
  • Analyze and recommend evolving technologies.
  • Professionally represent the Infrastructure team as a technical consultant on projects.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

    The position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking, and hearing.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates or a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or at least 2 years of experience.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS :

  • Microsoft certifications.
