Midland University, a private, faith-based, liberal arts institution in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking a Subject Matter Expert, Data Analytics. Reporting to the Dean, School of Business, this individual will be responsible for drafting curriculum for this program, including writing and finalizing the course's final syllabi, working with constituents on the core curriculum requirements, and working with businesses for partnership purposes. In addition, the SME could potentially teach courses in the MS Business Analytics program once it is launched. Course development will begin immediately with expected completion by the fall of 2023.

Expertise needed in the following course content areas:

  • Data Management
  • Data Programming
  • Predictive Modeling & Forecasting
  • Data Science for Business Intelligence
  • Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a master's degree or higher in data analytics, data science, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years working in data analytics in an organizational setting, specifically in a hands-on capacity.
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of the "soft" skills (communications, leadership, operations, sales, problem solving, planning, customer, intercultural competence) and "hard" skills (software, tools) required in the industry.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and labor market needs of the data analytics field and data-related career paths.
  • Strong writing and communication skills. Experience with academic writing and reporting is highly preferred.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience at the college level, and experience with developing curriculum in the field of data analytics, and favorable recommendations from references.
