This full-time secondment role is available immediately on a fixed term contract until the end of September 2023.

While the role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home – due to the nature of the role you will be expected to work entirely on campus during term time.

Summary of the role

Working in the Academic Development and Skills Team, the Study Zone Support Officer is often the first point of contact for Study Zone, and plays a key role in ensuring that students can access appropriate support throughout their University experience, often in times of high pressure.

You will have a strong desire to create a customer-focussed environment in which a supportive learning community can thrive, both in person and online. You will be a pivotal part of the team, providing critical administrative support for Study Zone's central and Faculty-facing taught provision. You will be a confident written and verbal communicator, and will make full use of your excellent English language skills to coordinate Study Zone communications. You will represent Study Zone at student-facing University events, and will liaise with other Student Services.

Relevant support and training will be provided to enable you to undertake the role and we welcome applications from candidates who have a strong desire and ability to learn quickly. However, we are particularly keen to hear from you if:

you have previous experience of customer service and community building

you have excellent IT skills and a high-level understanding of a range of University systems and platforms

you have prior experience of web, content editing, and/or professional communications to a range of audiences

you have prior experience of working with customer-related or event management systems, using Excel or similar to interrogate data

you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy finding solutions
