The National Cancer Institute (NCI)'s Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) is a national effort to accelerate the understanding of the molecular basis of cancer through the application of large-scale proteome and genome analysis, or proteogenomics. As a consortium member, the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Office of Sponsored Research & Administration (OSRA)/ Office of Translational Technologies (OTT) is seeking a Study Coordinator for the NCI CPTAC. The Study Coordinator will interact with cancer patients and work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians, and hospital staff to coordinate the various aspects of CPTAC research activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical research coordination, electric medical record queries, comfortable explaining the study protocol to patients that may participate, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in a biological science, nursing, or related field required. Advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD) preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in clinical research or project coordination.

Knowledge of proteomics, tumor biology, and cancer research.

Familiarity with the regulatory aspects of clinical research and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Proficiency in data management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD) preferred.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of the CPTAC project, including patient recruitment and study enrollment, sample collection, data management, and documentation.
  • Provide direction to clinical trial participant navigators (CTPN) and community health worker (CHW) staff that will direct patients to study enrollment staff (e.g., CHW and clinical staff) and communicate informed consent documents and enroll participants in the study, respectively.
  • Collaborate with investigators, clinical staff, health informaticians, and laboratory personnel to ensure the smooth running of the project.
  • Develop and implement protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for study procedures in compliance with NCI CPTAC protocols, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Facilitate communication among consortium members, and organize meetings, webinars, and teleconferences.
  • Manage data entry, database maintenance, and ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Assist with the preparation of progress reports, presentations, and scientific manuscripts.
  • Stay updated on new developments in proteomics and tumor biology and ensure findings are appropriately incorporated into study design and protocols.
