Job Summary

The Studio Art Department invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Sculptural Ceramics at the Associate or Assistant Professor level to begin teaching in the Fall of 2022. Applicants must have a terminal MFA degree, 3 years or more of higher education teaching experience, and research interests in ceramics with an emphasis in sculptural ceramics.​ The Studio Art Department is committed to attracting a diverse pool of candidates, reflecting the college's dedication to equity and diversity.

The teaching load is five courses over two semesters; periodically one course will be Tutorial (a topical writing/critical thinking course for first-year students, the only College-wide requirement beyond the completion of a major in an individually-advised curriculum). Teaching within the Studio Department will also include: ART 111: Introduction to the Studio a course open to majors and non-majors; ART 300: Advanced Studio Seminar; and may include drawing or other special topics courses related to the candidate's interests.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a terminal MFA degree, 3 years or more of higher education teaching experience, and research interests in ceramics with an emphasis in sculptural ceramics.​

In letters of application, candidates should discuss their interest in developing as a teacher and scholar in a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts college that emphasizes close student-faculty interaction.
