Position Summary

Job Summary

The Title IX Outreach and Resource Internship was created to effectively liaise between the Title IX Office and campus community. The intern will be supervised by the Director of Title IX Compliance. This position is considered non-exempt by FLSA standards.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Engage in discussions and conversations about new Title IX Regulations and their implementation at SU.
  • Aid in the research and revision of SU's Title IX Policy as well as other applicable policies impacted by the regulation changes.
  • Assist in editing, researching, and updating campus resources.
  • Develop new campus resources to enhance support services for all Parties in TIX processes
  • Review regular communications to campus community about regulation requirements
  • Develop Title IX training materials and programming for faculty, staff, and students
  • Assist in the review and assessment of institutional climate related to interpersonal violence
  • Learning Objectives

  • Provide 1-2 resource deliverables that they have adapted or developed.
  • Describe the process of researching, editing, and changing University policy.
  • Identify 1-2 training materials/curricula they have developed, advised, or edited.
  • Career Readiness: Career & Self-Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Equity & Inclusion, Professionalism.

    Available hours: 30 hours/week

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collect and use data to assess initiative effectiveness.
  • Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and program development skills.
  • Education open to current Susquehanna University Student.

    Experience No experience is required.

    Physical Demand

    Work is performed on campus. Ability to talk and to hear instruction. Requires occasional manual dexterity and the ability to use fingers, hands, and arms to feel, handle, and reach, as well as the occasional sitting, walking, stooping, crouching, and bending. Ability to move about campus. Position requires the ability to occasionally lift 10+ pounds.
