Job Summary/Basic Function

At TAC you work to solve the issues that cannot be resolved over the phone, or by suggested troubleshooting. TAC workers work on fixing student and University devices in a timely manner. This often involves communicating with the user and co-workers in order to come up with solutions quickly while ensuring that the solution is as permanent as can be. We deal with a little bit of everything IT related on campus and help ease the workload for the rest of IT.

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Basic Hardware skills
  • Job Duties

    Task may included but are not limited to:

  • Scan and grade exams for professors
  • Schedule times to go out to staff and faculty offices to look at the devices they are having problems with and troubleshoot on site. Bring the device back to TAC if the problem is beyond basic in-person troubleshooting
  • Uninstall and re-installing hardware when necessary: such as hard drives, power supplies and video cards.
  • Manage the ticket queue to address tickets in a timely manner
  • Refresh computers for redistribution
  • Help students and faculty who bring their devices to TAC for us to look at
  • Troubleshoot problematic podiums in classrooms and meeting rooms
  • Move employee computers and phones from one office to another
