The Marketing & Communications department at Keck Medicine of USC is seeking graduate-level students with a passion for improving the lives of others and a keen interest within the dynamic healthcare industry. We offer a rewarding journey within one of four divisions: Media Relations, Digital Marketing, Content Strategy and Marketing Operations & Analytics. Each division offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands on experience in healthcare marketing and communications while balancing your academic pursuits. Your responsibilities, depending on your division of interest, will encompass a range of tasks, from assisting with the creation of healthcare related content to conducting data analysis and contributing to marketing campaigns aimed at driving volume growth for the health system. We are seeking creative and enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn about the unique challenges and opportunities in the healthcare industry. We are offering Student Worker positions in the following areas: Media Relations: Help shape the voice of our healthcare system by aiding with media pitching, filming and b-roll, fostering media relationships, and ensuring that our positive impact reaches a broader audience. Digital Marketing: Dive into the digital world as you learn about strategy and aid in the execution of online marketing campaigns, social media initiatives and creative content to engage our target audience effectively. Content Marketing (Photo/Video): Assist in organizing digital assets, film and shoot media in our on-campus studio, edit media for distribution on online, social media and print channels. Marketing Analytics & Operations: Unleash the power of data to drive impactful decisions. Explore and analyze marketing metrics to optimize campaigns and understand audience behavior, contributing to the growth of our healthcare system. Aid in organizing our departments day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and collaborative environment. Student Workers are limited to 20 hours/week and must not have any other jobs at USC. Essential Duties:

  • We are offering Student Worker positions in the following areas: accountabilities may vary depending on the division of best-fit/interest:
  • Digital Marketing • Develop social media content • Assist with in-language translations • Assist with production of digital content
  • Media Relations • Filming and production of b-roll • Media pitching • Source alerts • Identifying trending topics
  • Content Marketing • Photo & video scheduling, editing and retouching • Organization of digital assets using DAM software • Assist with photo & video shoots – sound, lighting and shooting
  • Marketing Analytics & Operations • Build marketing and business development dashboards on Tableau and/or Google Data Studio (Looker) • Analyze disparate data sets and mine for insights to support decision making • Deliver timely, evidence-based insights and recommendations • Provide ad hoc reporting and statistical analyses, as requested
  • General Responsibilities • Work collaboratively with assigned team to improve operational proficiencies within the department • Attendance in committee and departmental meetings to gain a better understanding of the internal processes of the organization • Meet regularly with mentor and other senior leaders within the department to review progress.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Req Related undergraduate study USC Undergrad student in a work-related field.

  • Req 1 - 3 years prior work experience in a professional setting, preferably within a related industry and/or function. Undergrad and graduate student courses in a related field.

  • Req Creative, flexible, strategic thinker with strong analytical skills

  • Req Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Req Excellent listening skills with ability to ask questions that further discovery.
  • Req Curious, energetic, and enjoy problem solving
  • Req 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref Related graduate study In progress Graduate Degree in Business, Communicatons, Marketing, Healthcare or similar area of focus. USC graduate student in a work-related field.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
  • The hourly rate range for this position is $19.00 - $29.77.
