Job Summary/Basic Function

As an IT Student Worker, the Help Desk Agent responsibilities include providing technical assistance and support related to technological issues at Millersville University. These issues may include assistance with various technology systems and software related issues that are faced by Millersville University students, faculty, and staff. The Help Desk Agent is responsible for answering phone calls to respond to inquiries and often to perform diagnostic programs to isolate and further investigate technological related issues of the staff, students and faculty of Millersville University in order to determine the nature of the issue and implement solutions as available. This position is very sedentary and requires clear and well-spoken communication skills as all support in this role is provided verbally over the phone.

  • Job Duties

    Task may included but are not limited to:

  • Answering phone calls in a courteous & professional manner
  • Provide technical assistance and support suggestions for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Walk the users through the needed problem-solving process with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Install, modify, and repair computer software by using remote support sessions
  • Maintain documentation of all calls received by using our ticketing system
  • Other related duties as assigned

  • Be able to sit and use a computer for the length of shift
