Position Details Percent of Time/Week: 100%Service Schedule: P&S Calendar Year Position Description:
Recruits new transfer students to the University with an emphasis on transfer students in online and distance programs; advises students on admissions process and application status, tuition and fees, scholarships, academic program offerings, etc.; builds strong professional relationships with TRIO advisors, faculty, staff, and community members in the Indian Hills Community College district; provides ongoing mentoring and guidance for Indian Hills Community College transfer students; assists with college fairs and other university recruitment events; prepares data-based reports; and administers scholarship program for online distance students, including the Future Ready Scholarships, in partnership with the Office of Financial Aid, Online & Distance Education, and the Foundation Office.
This position will be based in Ottumwa, IA, primarily working with Indian Hills Community College students. This is a two year, term appointment, with a possibility of renewal.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Required Qualifications:
At least one year of experience in a student services field such as multicultural affairs, student success, admissions, residence life, or academic advising required. Occasional work outside normal work hours and occasional travel will be necessary. Student experience will be considered.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with admission recruitment processes and procedures such as tour guide, phone bank, telecounseling, office worker, or orientation leader; experience working with underrepresented populations; experience using social media in a professional setting; and experience conducting individual or group presentations to student and families preferred.
