The Leibniz Institute of Photonics Technology (Leibniz-IPHT) offers the following position in the Competence Center for Micro- and Nanotechnologies, Work-Group IR Sensor Production:

Student / Research Assistant (f/m/d)

The position is initially limited to 12 months. An extension will be sought if suitable.

The Leibniz-IPHT is a university independent research institute with close connection to the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and member of the Leibniz association.

Job description

By means of microstructuring technologies, infrared sensors are fabricated on wafer level in the Leibniz-IPHT clean room. The wafers are diced into sensor chips and further processed into radiation detectors using integrated circuit packaging technology. The radiation detectors are developed and researched at Leibniz-IPHT, fabricated in the IR sensor fabrication group and find applications in medicine and aerospace.

Your field of activity:
  • Electrical and optical testing of the IR sensor chips for ongoing quality assurance
  • Further processing of the chip-based sensors to radiation detectors via integrated circuit packaging technology
  • There will be a comprehensive training session with the company-specific processes. The work is to be carried out conscientiously in compliance with ISO-certified processes and documented.

    Your qualification:
  • Engineering or scientific studies (Bachelor/Master) or a comparable education level is desired
  • Your knowledge and skills:
  • Meticulous approach to work, special care and most cautious handling of microstructured substrates
  • Fast comprehension, independent and conscientious working style
  • Good German language skills during training sessions are required

  • Salary:

    The remuneration depends on the level of education, but at most up to the low- income limit (max. 520,00 €).
