Position Category Student (Variable Hour) Summary

This position is a ten month position based on funding from a GEL SEEd Carrot grant. With the guidance of SOE faculty, the student will: Create K-12th grade lesson plans focused on the integration of STEM and Computer Science across content areas Support the creation of teaching resources, including video Support implementation of a pilot study at local schools with teachers and K-12 students

Required Qualifications

Current UVU Student at the Sophomore, Junior or Senior level Flexibility in work schedule Available 5 hours per week Current driver's license and access to a vehicle

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of Utah Core standards. Knowledge of data analysis. Ability to maintain professional relationships. Ability to collaborate with faculty, peers, and classroom teachers. Detail-oriented and organized. Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, G Suite). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create lesson plans. Ability to work independently without close supervision. Ability to participate in on-going training.

Preferred Qualifications

Lesson plan writing experience preferred Accepted into Elementary or Secondary Education programs

Physical Requirements

Physical ability to type on a computer. Physical ability to drive a car. Speaking and vision abilities are required for this position.
