Position Summary
The Student Assistant for Mission and Ministry provides general office support for the Office of Mission and Ministry. Students will be assigned a designated office to serve within UMM.
This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work- Study Program.
Essential Functions
Essential functions include: -Run Errands on campus; Print Shop, Post Office, Business Office, Accounts Payable, etc.; -Answer phones in a busy office environment; Sanitize office equipment daily; -Meet and greet visitors (social distance); -Safely guide or escort visitors to various places on campus; give directions to various campus offices; -Conduct business at the Business Office, Grant Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Post Office, Print Shop etc.; -Create Microsoft Office documents; Word documents, posters, flyers; -All assigned tasks should be (proofread and or double checked before submitting.) Tasks should be submitted in a timely manner as directed by the supervisor; -Perform filing; -Participate in UMM events; assist with set up and break down; -Assist other directors in the department with various duties as assigned; -Collate and copy assignments as needed; -Maintain organization of materials in workspace and main office; -Adhere to assigned work schedule, UMM workplace guidelines, and professional/casual dress, wear the appropriate badge when in office; -Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor or other UMM Team member.
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook; -Ability to train on the job and work individually or with a team; -Ability to adhere to work schedules and maintain good time management; -Ability to maintain a professional work ethic in the office; -Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures; -Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA; -Work with other UMM Team directors within our office. -Communication with supervisor is important and must be maintained on a daily basis.
Required Education
Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work- Study program. Must show Award Letter listing Work-study approval upon hire.
Required Work Experience Preferred Qualifications
-Previous work experience in an office setting -Knowledge of the campus, buildings, and surrounding locations -Knowledge of office protocols and equipment
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations Work Hours
Your work schedule will be managed according to your Class Schedule.
Physical Demands
-Ability to move about campus and pick up mail and packages from Post office. -Ability to lift up to up to 25 pounds and push and pull up to 50 pounds of supplies.
