The generation of high-quality figures requires a lot of manual labor. To create vectorized graphics from MATLAB plots, the toolbox matlab2tikz exports figures to LaTeX-readable Tikz code. However, more post-processing is required to make the resulting figure ready for publication. Additional features such as subplots and the correct handling of legend entries are currently not supported. Our goal is to automate and extend the existing workflow for fast and reliable exporting of MATLAB figures to vectorized graphics.

Your task :

  • Programming language: MATLAB
  • Automating the workflow for figure generation, extending matlab2tikz
  • Implementation of additional features (subplots, legends)
  • Ensuring small files by data processing to sufficient floating-point precision
  • Testing using examples from CORA
  • Work environment :

  • Cyber-Physical Systems Group (Prof. Althoff)
  • 8-10h/week, usually remote work
  • Weekly meetings, in person or online
