Position Responsibilities:

All staff members are expected to be sufficiently available for their residents and to maintain regular contact with residents through monthly floor programming and being a presence on the floor. Head RA's are expected to check in with each room on their floor on a weekly basis. A staff member who is not on duty and who plans to leave the dormitory for an extended period of time (excluding Shabbat) must obtain prior permission from the University Housing and Residence Life Administration.

The Head RA assists daily with:

  • Shabbat
  • Vacation duty coverage
  • Planning floor programs
  • Checking on other RAs within their building, in particular regarding to the Open Door initiative
  • Administrative tasks associated with the operation of the entire residence hall community
  • Experience & Educational Background:

    Experience and Educational Background:

  • Must be a YU undergraduate or graduate student (Wilf Campus)
  • The Resident Adviser serves as a catalyst in the development of the residence hall community and deals with concerns of students. The RA must have good judgment, strength of character, self-confidence, a strong sense of responsibility, and an understanding of the needs of different types of individuals
  • The following conditions must be met to serve in the position
  • All University Housing and Residence Life staff members must be in good standing at Yeshiva University
  • Salary Range:

    $2,600-$2,600
