    one Stu­dent Assist­ant (f/m/x)

    to be employed for a period of 12 months, start­ing on 1st Octo­ber 2021, with the pos­sib­il­ity of exten­sion and a weekly work­ing load of 19 hours.

    Your tasks and duties

  • Act­ively sup­port­ing the research­ers with their sci­entific work, espe­cially in the areas of politi­ciz­a­tion, pub­lic com­mu­nic­a­tion of European and inter­na­tional organ­iz­a­tions, with tasks such as research and review of lit­er­at­ure; eli­cit­a­tion, pro­cessing, ana­lysis, and visu­al­iz­a­tion of data; edit­or­ial work on and dis­cus­sion of sci­entific manuscripts, blog posts, and other pub­lic­a­tions
  • Require­ments:

    Your pro­file

  • Bach­elor's or Mas­ter's stu­dent in Inter­na­tional Rela­tions, Polit­ical Sci­ence, Soci­ology, or a related dis­cip­line
  • Very good course achieve­ments
  • Very good com­mand of writ­ten and spoken Eng­lish and Ger­man lan­guages
  • Sound know­ledge of MS Office applic­a­tions
  • Exper­i­ence with and interest in meth­ods of data col­lec­tion, pro­cessing, man­age­ment, and visu­al­isa­tion (e.g., with Excel, STATA, R, or SPSS)
  • Exper­i­ence with syn­tax-based data ana­lysis and visu­al­isa­tion (e.g., R, STATA, or Python) and interest in com­pu­ta­tional social sci­ence approaches (e.g., web scrap­ing, text ana­lysis, net­work ana­lysis)
  • Desired qual­i­fic­a­tions

  • Know­ledge of the­or­ies and debates in Inter­na­tional Rela­tions or Com­par­at­ive Polit­ical Sci­ence
  • Know­ledge of quant­it­at­ive and qual­it­at­ive research meth­ods
  • Exper­i­ence with ref­er­ence man­age­ment soft­ware (e.g., Zotero, Citavi, End­Note)
