Oversee operations of the student-ran Capstone Agency and teach courses in
Advertising + Public Relations.

The Capstone Agency is a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
nationally affiliated, student-run integrated communication firm housed at The
University of Alabama. The firm has more than 100 student employees and is
consistently recognized by PRSSA as one of the best in the nation. The primary
responsibilities of the firm advisor will be to oversee the operations of
Capstone Agency, liaise between Capstone Agency executive leadership and
current and future clients (local, regional, and national in scope), and to
help ensure growth in student membership and robust experiential learning
This position also carries the faculty rank. The selected candidate will hold
the rank of Non-Tenure Track Renewable Contract (NTRC) instructor. The
normal teaching load for a faculty member in our department is four courses
(12 credit hours per semester), but this position has a reduced teaching
load of two courses per semester (6 credit hours) contingent on the firm's
ongoing portfolio and productivity.

•Master's degree in Advertising, Communication, Mass Communication, Public
Relations or closely related field completed by start date.
•At least 3 years of experience advising a student-run agency or comparable
industry experience as Advertising or Public Relations Agency Director.
Preferred Qualifications (considered after all minimum qualifications are
•Record of teaching effectiveness, with experience in teaching relevant
•Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) holder and ability to teach APR
certificate course to undergraduate students.
•Industry experience working with large local, regional, and national clients.
•Demonstrated mentorship experience.
•An entrepreneurial, award-seeking mindset.
•Strong potential for scholarly activity in advertising or public relations
trade/industry publications, journals, academic or university presses, or
other publication outlets.
