    The Student Advocacy and Appeals Advisor is a student centric opportunity suited to applicants who bring emotional intelligence and a sense of humour to engage, relate and advocate making a positive impact on the lives and education experience of our MIT tauira.     E pā ana ki te tūranga - About the role:

  • Working closely with our Student Advisors, Academic teams, and Campus General Managers with a mandate to enhance the tauira, -student experience at MIT.
  • Handling the complaints and appeal process and review processes, policies and systems pertinent to MIT tauira.
  • Developing and reviewing policies and processes to ensure they are conducive to our tauira wellbeing and are meeting their needs to be successful learners
  • Supporting managers with online training modules and workshops with the tools and resources to assist them in understanding the processes protocols related to the Student Complaints Resolution Policy.
  • To be successful you will need to be proactive and confident with a solution focus to mitigate risk; recommending outcomes that resolve matters through facilitation and mediation ensuring that our tauira get clear and timely advocacy and support.

    This is a hands-on role requiring energy and drive to embrace student life. We are seeking applicants who have a strong attention to detail and bring policy development with exceptional facilitation, communication and engagement skills. If you have a Bachelor of Law or equivalent this will provide you with a great foundation to be effective in this role.
