    About the Role

    Reporting directly to the Manager: Student Advisers (International), you will work with students in a complex, cross-cultural environment, to support positive learning outcomes and overall satisfaction with the University experience. You will be a key point of contact for the Student Engagement Unit on each campus for all students to assist them with issues related to their studies, including student wellbeing, pastoral care and administration issues.

    About the Student Engagement Unit (SEU)

    The Student Engagement Unit (SEU) is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of student facing services that will enhance the on- campus and off-campus student experience for all students. The SEU also takes strategic steps to inform the quality of the student experience of learning and teaching, support services, the learning environment, and student facilities.

    SEU services include learning advice, student wellbeing support, counselling services, careers and employment advice and specialised services for students with disabilities, international student support as well as a range of extracurricular activities including UniSA Sport.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills appropriate to working effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds in a range of contexts and settings and staff at all levels of the organisation
  • Proven experience working in a customer service environment to provide information to a wide range of customers in a variety of mediums, including online
  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of internal and external groups, on an individual level and in groups, including demonstrated experience to develop and deliver workshops and resource materials
  • Exceptional organisational, time management and problem solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues relating to international students in higher education settings with a demonstrated commitment to keeping abreast of changes in legislation or best practice
