No Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to all students seeking assistance in writing, via e-mail, in person and by telephone. This includes answering questions about and providing guidance on student account issues, payment arrangements. 2. Analyzes assigned accounts and conducts other research as necessary to respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies; identifies problems or error in accounts; determines appropriate corrective actions within established guidelines and refers for action as appropriate. 3. Clearly understands policies and procedures, both financial and, where pertinent to the functions of the Office of the Bursar, academic, of the University in order to provide information to students; remains in contact with appropriate University department for up-to-date information. 4. Processes various accounting and student service documents including, but not limited to, those related to payment plans, student account refunds, insurance billing, and third party contracts ensures actions are in accordance with established guidelines. 5. Provides assistance as needed at alternative campus locations. 6. Actively mail letter, sends e-mails and makes phone calls for past due accounts in an attempt to collect monies owed to Loyola. 7. Advises borrowers on the issues of Deferments, Forbearances, Perkins loan reconciliation, payment, repayment agreements and credit bureau reporting. 8. Counsels students on loan and federal consolidation options. 9. Actively works with outside collection agencies in an effort to collect balance due. 10. Ensure all employees are properly recognized on their work anniversaries and birthdays. 11. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by the Manager
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Associate's Degree supplemented with 0-1 year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Bachelor's degree preferred. Education/Experience Accounting or other business field experience preferred and minimum six months of customer service experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Language Ability: Ability to read, write and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Excellent verbal and diplomatic skills are critical.
Math Ability: Basic math skills. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
