The Opportunity
The Student Accounts Coordinator will perform and coordinate all activities
related to assigned accounts in accordance with departmental and college
established guidelines, policies and procedures. This position is a direct
report to the College Bursar.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide the highest level of customer service (via in person, phone and
electronic communications) and answer student and parent inquiries
regarding their financial status;
Process, post and reconcile student payments daily as well as assist with
month-end reconciliation of student receipts in the college's student
administrative software;
Manage assigned student account receivables and collection follow-up as
necessary;
Prepare and process student refunds for financial aid, drops/withdrawals
and overpayments;
Assist students and families in developing a plan of action to cover unmet
financial need for the semester or year;
Maintain current knowledge of Housing, Financial Aid, Admissions and
Registrar processes and how they relate to the Student Account's Office
function;
Recommend improvements in systems, processes and procedures that will
increase the customer satisfaction and the efficiencies of the department;
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications:
Two to four years of related experience. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
in Business, Accounting or a related field;
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills;
Attention to details is essential;
Ability to communicate professionally, with clarity and brevity, required
both orally and in writing;
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to initiate
action, organize projects, solve problems, enhance communication, or
improve processes;
Ability to handle a variety of individuals and situations in a
professional environment with a diplomatic manner and pleasant
disposition;
The capability to discreetly and confidentially handle sensitive topics
and correspondence
Excellent management of time and other resources to meet established goals
within agreed upon time frames.
