An exciting opportunity exists for a Strategy Lead, Student Experience Program to join our dynamic and collaborative team.

• A competitive salary package commensurate with skills and experience (Senior contract) • Full-time, fixed-term role for 3 years. Anticipated to commence from March 2023 to December 2025. • Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.

THE ROLE

Macquarie University is establishing a Student Experience Program to increase co-ordination, resourcing, and effort in driving forward our strategies related to Students First. The strategy lead will lead the co-ordination, development and embedding of the next generation of Macquarie University's Education and Student Experience Strategy. The strategy will draw on the foundations of the current Operating Plan and will shape its next iteration.

Reporting to the Director, Student Experience Program, you will:

  • In consultation with the DVC(A), lead the strategy engagement, development and delivery process which covers all parts of the University's Education and Student Experience culminating in an Executive and community endorsed strategy for the University.
  • Lead, analyse and monitor complex strategy development from initiation to completion by developing detailed project plans, implementing along strict timelines, sourcing input from diverse contributors, integrating feedback from senior stakeholders, and achieving executive sponsorship.
  • Lead complex and sensitive consultations across the organisation to identify opportunities, challenges, and priorities and co-design solutions.
  • Analyse the external environment and identify the potential trends and risks that are of strategic significance to the University's Education and Student Experience Strategy.
  • Work in conjunction with Business Intelligence and Reporting, lead a small team responsible for data identification, analysis and reporting to support the development of strategy and initiatives.
  • Coordinate the creation and cross-functional integration of working papers, business cases and submissions for program/project initiatives supporting the Education and Student Experience Strategies and provide specialist advice and guidance through the decision-making process, ensuring adequate consultation and consensus with key stakeholders.

  • Literate in, and conversant with national and individual HE provider education and student experience data
  • Experience designing and delivering education/student experience strategies, monitoring project implementation and assessing outcomes
  • Clear understanding of state and federal education policy
  • Strong presentation skills and a capacity to deliver complex data insights in an accessible fashion
  • Able to work deftly across complex stakeholder groups
  • Well-developed communication and engagement
  • Experience working closely with senior university stakeholders including members of Council, the Executive and Senate.
