Achieving ambitious climate action, nature recovery and other environmental outcomes will not happen if we cannot shift capital markets and the financial system. The Oxford Sustainable Finance Group (OxSFG) at the University of Oxford is the world's largest centre for research and teaching in sustainable finance. The Group focuses on applied research to find solutions that accelerate the alignment of the financial system with global environmental sustainability. We work closely with both policymakers and financial practitioners and have a track record of significant contributions to the field of sustainable finance.
We are seeking a highly impact driven individual to join our team as a Strategic Programmes Manager to increase the impact and reach of our research. The post holder's responsibilities will extend beyond project management as they will engage with external stakeholders and contribute to OxSFG thought leadership, publications, and other outputs. The first pillar of the role is the management of several of OxSFG research projects, working across multidisciplinary teams and ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met. This also includes proactive communication with project stakeholder such as funders, research and delivery partners and potential users of the outputs. The second pillar is proactive outreach and stakeholder engagement. This will include representing specific projects and the Group at events, workshops or bilateral meetings with relevant stakeholders. This also includes the development of knowledge exchange activities to ensure our outputs and learnings are adopted effectively by the various stakeholder communities.
The successful candidate will hold, or be close to completion of a relevant Master's degree or equivalent, and demonstrate broad understanding of OxSFG mission and issues on which we work. You will be an excellent team player with excellent skills of consultation, collaboration and influence in order to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders. Excellent writing skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to communicate complex concepts to a non-specialist audience are also essential, along with the ability to work independently in a complex environment, taking initiative when necessary and prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.
An appointment at Grade 6: £30,502 - £36,386 p.a. may also be considered for a less experienced candidate (with an adjustment of responsibilities).
