Responsibilities: • Deliver in-class content to children in a fun and engaging manner • Complete the required training sessions virtually (during May) • Performing any necessary outside preparation to ensure that the class runs smoothly • Prepare adequately by reviewing and internalizing the prepared curricula for the courses to be taught. • Implement the curriculum as written, adapting it as needed to improve the camper experience or accommodate individual campers. • Provide leadership, energy and camp spirit, constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individual campers. • Supervise Assistant Instructors working in your program area and inspire them to become excellent instructors. • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in and outside the classroom. • Practice and promote positive interaction with and among students. • Support camper check-in and check-out processes. • Provide excellent customer service to parents by communicating with them about their camper's experience. • Supervise and assist with daily setup and cleanup of camp. • Assume responsibility for the care of materials, equipment, and facilities. • Maintain professional status through communication with students, parents, program directors and supervisors.

Required Qualification

• Deep passion for education • Creative, out of the box thinker • Previous experience working with and/or educating elementary-aged learners • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to travel to and from class locations • Willingness to travel to selected locations around Omaha • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Power Point, Excel and Word • Availability for Summer camps (15 hours/ 4-day/week), Hours = 8:30-12, 12:30-4 (will vary slightly from site to site and week to week. Plus 40+ hours training in May.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in education, engineering, computer science or related field preferred, but not required • Teaching Certification preferred, but not required • Experience delivering STEM-themed projects • Experience with Arduino or similar boards • Experience with CAD (computer-aided design) programs • Experience with woodworking or other hands-on making

Physical Demands Salary/Hourly Rate $35.00
