This individual will support the Standardized Patient Program with a focus on recruiting, training, and developing qualified standardized patients and coaches for Office of Medical Simulation events. This position will report to the Associate Director and coordinate with the staff and educators to facilitate communications, collaboration, and coordination with the program.

1. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to speak publicly. Must be able to interact effectively with administration, faculty, staff, potential donors, students, and represent the Office of Medical Simulation.
2. Must have excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to assess situations and adapt to a highly dynamic environment, and have the ability to manage multiple projects.
3. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and basic non-invasive diagnostic equipment (blood pressure cuff, stethoscope and ophthalmoscope/otoscope) as well as a general understanding of basic physical examination.
4. Must have basic desktop computer skills and have a general knowledge of audio-video recording systems and a theoretical knowledge of medical simulators. (WebSP experience preferred.)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Education, Communications or any area that supports teaching/training in Medical/Health field or that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job in a satisfactory manner. Working on completion within the next 2 years or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2 to 4 years of administrative experience. Experience in higher education, preferably in a standardized, simulated or virtual patient environment. Demonstrated teaching/training ability required.

Essential Job Duties
Works in collaboration with the Director and Associate Director to oversee Standardized Patients and Coaches through building and maintaining interpersonal relationships, developing skills in performance, standardization, and InterRaterReliability (IRR)
Percentage Of Time 15 Job Duties
Works with the Director and Associate Director to develop and oversee Standardized Patient (SP) protocols, applications and tools used for training and performance including the co-oversight of recruitment, training and scheduling of SPs. Initiates a year round recruitment program for standardized patients including advertising and facilitation.
Percentage Of Time 25 Job Duties
Trains and educates SPs and coaches on assigned events and systems. Develops, trains, and certifies SPs qualified as system coaches to coaching levels through workshops, individual training and evaluation processes.
Percentage Of Time 20 Job Duties
Leads on assigned events by coordinating with faculty, recruiting and training SPs, and scheduling event and administrative follow through of completed Clinical Skills Lab (CSL) forms and materials necessary to invoice events in a timely manner.
