Posting Summary

Reports to the Student Wellness Center Director. Provides mental health counseling services to university students, individually and in groups; provides diagnosis; assesses counseling and treatment needs; conducts short- term psychotherapy; collaborates and makes referrals to appropriate medical staff for medication; assists and coordinates hospitalization and outpatient treatment discharge plans.

Assists with psychological assessment clinic and crisis intervention for students who are seen on an emergency basis, includes oversight and management of Protocall/afterhours service systems and on-call designee for Deans on Duty and Rutgers Camden Police Department. Performs professional work that requires specialized knowledge of psychotherapy, psychological assessment and a solid understanding, use, and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology and applied areas and specialization within psychology, counseling, psychological assessment or clinical psychology. Must function as a team player in a multidisciplinary staff. Excellent communication skills and computer literacy is a requirement.

Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position requires a fully on-site work arrangement and may be eligible for a compressed workweek or a flex workday schedule.

The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the [email protected] Application System. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

Requires a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an A.P.A.-accredited program with interest and background working in a diverse, multi-disciplinary setting treating a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, adjustment disorders, personality disorders.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have experience in excellent communication skills, writing skills, and computer literacy. Must be licensed or licensed-eligible to practice as a psychologist in New Jersey.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include experience in a university counseling center and/or

working with young adults. Also seeking a clinician with expertise in evidence based

short term treatment models, treatment of trauma, psychological assessment.

    Immunization Requirements
