The Staff Nurse II is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, evaluating, documenting, and performing nursing care for patient in an assigned area. They will be making decisions based on critical thinking and knowledge of best practices. They will be responsible for supervising and delegating patient care through auxiliary personnel as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient and participates in evaluation and care with providers.
  • Assists providers with procedures such as incision and drainage, sutures, etc.
  • Carries out physician's orders by following up with patients, EKG's, orthopedic needs, collecting and ordering lab specimens, and working on referrals.
  • Triage walk-in or call-in patient to determine immediate needs.
  • Monitors emergency cart and AED daily to check for needs and maintains readiness.
  • Assesses patients understanding of instruction, provides instruction and education as needed.
  • Will be cross trained in other nursing areas immunization, woman's clinic, and contact tracing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nursing License.
  • Current Texas Nursing License.
  • One (1) year of nursing Experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
  • Familiarity with Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) requirements.
  • Excellent communication Skills.
